Culture and ecology session in Wayanad
This gathering brought together about 60 students from the different schools of Wayanad district in the southern state of Kerala. Wayanad is a mountainous district and people are beginning to experience fluctuating climatic patterns and water shortages. Trees are being cut to create holiday resorts and to start granite quarries. The program was inaugurated by Mrs. Glory George, a child rights commissionís member of Kerala and principal of a school. The students concluded the session by depicting the various ecological problems with short plays.
